One of our authorized and experienced guides will introduce you to the Palio directly in Piazza, the natural theater of the race for more than five centuries. Here, watching a video will help you to better understand the course of the race, its uniqueness and its most curious anecdotes. Then we will move to one of the 17 Contradas that make up the city, the protagonists of each edition in turn. It is within this space that the life of the “Contrada” takes place throughout the year. Among the fountains where the newborn are baptized, thus linking themselves to the Contrada for life; in the museum where the palios are preserved, old costumes and historical relics. And in the Oratory, the church of Contrada, where the sacred and the profane merge during the blessing of the horses, one of the most evocative moments of the Palio.
